Econ min says govt in non-public privatization talks with foreigners
DAVOS, Jan 23 (PRIME) -- The Russian government is discussing several privatization deals for state-run companies at non-public meetings, some of which involve foreign investors, Economic Development Minister Maxim Oreshkin said at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Wednesday.
“We are working on a number of various deals. We are working privately. When the deals are prepared, there should not be a public discussion with who we are negotiating, what wa talk about,” he said at a session which discussed how to keep Russia competitive.
“There are some companies (whose sale) could be positive for the Russian economy in our opinion, if additional investment also comes from foreign partners. We are working on them.”
